Friday School
Friday School meets at 3:30 p.m. on Fridays at B101/KG2B. Children from the ages of 2 to 12 years are invited. Before the class starts the teachers and some of the children attend the intercessory prayer for the 3:30 p.m. Service. The teachers are prayed over and anointed and the children are given a chance to be part of a powerful intergenerational prayer. The children’s ministry is united with all the other ministries and the children are an active part of the body.
We start our classes with a prayer followed by praise and worship. This is led by children who are told to prepare in advance. They have to plan and discuss with a teacher the way they would lead the praise and worship. After the praise and worship we have a ten minute ice-breaker to get to know each other in a new way. It is a time of fun when the children ask and answer unusual questions, draw pictures, discuss favorite colors, use lots of symbols… We check homework. Yes, in our Friday School we have fun homework most of the time. But do not be afraid to join us– the students are the ones who ask for homework.
Our lesson consists of three parts – Bible story, Bible memory verse and reflection. After every lesson there is a short ten question quiz. At the beginning of the next month the children with high scores from the quizzes are presented awards.
Third Friday of the month is our special time to teach a new song. Every forth Friday of the month we have children’s service.
The children keep journals. They put their prayer requests and God’s answers, Bible memory verses, events, life lessons and reflections, pictures and drawings in.
Our children participate in ushering and greeting, praise and worship at the 3:30 p.m. Service.
