Events - Harvest Festival - Harvest Festival 2010

Since 25 years, we have gathered together each November, to celebrate Father God’s outpouring over our lives and church. Months’ ahead, careful preparation takes place, as we plan every aspect of the Harvest Festival. Young and old greatly enjoy this celebration. Over 2,500 people come through our gates, many of them for the first time. There is a joyful sound as worship teams, from different cultures, participate in giving thanks. The atmosphere is thick with love and His sweet presence. The proceeds generated through the Harvest Festival have enabled our Church to financially bless the poor and the lost around the world.
“He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.” (Ps.126:6)
The theme of this year’s Harvest Festival is taken from one of the songs of thanksgiving recorded in the Bible. The prophet’s heart was bursting with delight, as he recalled, how Jehovah faithfully brought his people out of captivity into a spacious place. For many, coming to Kuwait has meant just that. We too can proclaim, along with the prophet of old, how ‘our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy’, remembering our desert experiences; being rescued from bondage of sin so we can praise and worship him.
All over the world there are festivals of harvest celebrated, as farmers know what it means to ‘sow in tears’. Today, we remember God’s promise to us, as we sow the seeds, by giving our time and gifts; there will be a time to reap with songs of joy. May the Lord cause us to bear good fruit for His Kingdom.
