Worship Ministry - Updates

REPORTS - David Baroni Worship Conference Report (MAR 2007)

"Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name." Psalm 103:1
That was exactly what the people experienced when they attended the David Baroni Worship Conference at The Lighthouse Church on March 14 and 17, 2007. It was the first major project of TLC Worship Ministry in a decade. Over 100 worship leaders, pastors, church administrators and key persons in worship ministry from churches all over Kuwait registered and attended the event together with TLC pastors, staff and church members. Both of the conference nights were packed with people who came ready to praise and worship the living God with all their might.

David led the congregation in praise and worship both nights of the conference after the "blowing of the shofar" by Pastor Jerry Zandstra and Pastor Dave Peacock. The sound produced by the blowing of the shofar, the praises of God's people from different nations and tongues and the instruments and voices of the singers and choir filled the house of God. It was so intense and explosive. We believe we touched the very heart of our Master, Creator and King. The teaching message and songs from David after the time of praise ministered to the people too.

The worship band, choir and back up singers supported and worshiped with David. They all did a great job. The TLC Creative Arts – Heavenly Scents and Praise Dancers  – performed for the first time and interpreted some of David's songs through dance on both nights. They were awesome! The presence and anointing of God was so unusual and the people felt a "new level and dimension of worship". There was an obvious excitement, great rejoicing and an almost unending celebration after the benediction on the second night. People danced and praised God with freedom.

"The atmosphere was like a taste of heaven here on earth and the worship was so explosive. We hope this is not the end but just the beginning of a new and fresh wave of praise and worship in the Church and in the Body," a participant exclaimed.
"That was an awesome experience. Hope we can do that every time we have a worship service," said another participant.

The day after the first night of the conference, David conducted 5 hours of seminars  for songwriters, worship leaders, pastors and key persons in the worship team. He talked and shared tips about "Songwriting for Worship", "Following the Worship Leading of the Holy Spirit" and "Working with your Worship Team."

David and Rita also shared messages in the Friday and Sunday Worship Services of TLC during the week. On the night of March 19 at the TLC Vision Center, David held a seminar where he shared his gift and talent on "How to flow in worship on the keyboard" and Rita conducted a special "Workshop for Singers". It was almost as exciting as the other nights but it turned out to be an extra special night when, at the end of the closing song, Rita called out all the teenagers in the house to come in front. She started praying and giving a word for each and every one of them. God's presence was so great that the young people started crying tears of joy as they heard God's word uttered to them.
On March 22, Rita was the guest speaker at the Wellsprings Women's Retreat held at the Movenpick Hotel and spoke about "Living My Destiny".

On March 23, David led the corporate praise and worship at the 12:30pm Friday Service. It was really a great experience to see the people being ushered into the throne room of God by a world renowned worship leader and songwriter. And finally, he shared the message "What in the world is God up to?" at the 3:30pm Fridayservice which Rita called the "Grand Finale" of the conference week. It was! Rita read the lyrics of the song she wrote for the church in Kuwait. She then called out all the kids below 11 years old, had them line up in the aisle, and prophesied to them. She then led them into a "Jericho March" where the children shouted the shout of victory. The presence of God was so strong in the house. Afterwards she prayed for young adults aged 20 to 29 and the rest of the congregation. The service ended with a benediction from the couple.

It was an amazing and wonderful week of worship experience. We believe David and Rita blessed many lives in the body of Christ in Kuwait. Our prayer is that we may all continue to apply everything that we have learned. Let us always be in the attitude of praise, worship and prayer. Let God's presence in you radiate throughout Kuwait, the Middle East and everywhere the Lord sends you to testify of His love, mercy and amazing grace.
The Worship Department would like to convey our special thanks to our Senior Pastor, Pastoral Team and staff for encouraging and guiding us and even sharing our burden in the planning and execution of the event. To all Pastors and Worship Leaders, thanks for the fellowship and partnership you started with us. To the Sound and Media Team – great job guys!
(Note: if you need audio or video copy of the sessions and messages of the conference, just place your order from this team.)
To Miriam's Troop – Tambourine and Banner Dancers – your presence heightened the atmosphere of praise and worship. Thanks to The Shepherd Shoppe for extending your help to keep David and Rita's CDs available. To the Peacocks and Daileys, for your warm hospitality – you helped make the Baronis' experience a "home away from home". To all the men and women who in one way or another contributed to the success of the conference – you know who you are – God bless you abundantly. And to David and Rita, may God extend your territory and may you eat the fruit of your labor and love. Keep a place in your heart for Kuwait and TLC.)

God is good and He deserves all the glory, honor and praise forever more! See you all again next year!
