Purpose Statement:

The role of TLC Worship Department is to encourage people to draw closer to God through praise and worship, music, dance, creativity and other opportunities, and usher them to God's presence in expressing their love and gratitude to the Maker of all things. It provides avenues for people with a variety of gifts and talents in many areas within the church

Its other job, is to aide and support the church in fulfilling its vision by providing the opportunities, experiences, and practical training needed. This will enable the people of the church to grow personally and spiritually and to become disciples and spiritual multipliers, equipped to reach out to those around them.

Vision Statement:

Understanding that worship is a means of coming into the very presence of God and getting a glimpse of His heart, we will endeavor to worship first of all individually. Then from the overflow of our own hearts, we will lead God's people in worship to the place we have already been.

We serve a holy God, one who requires purity and consecration from those who minister before Him. Therefore, we will keep short accounts, making confession of our sin daily, so that we may ever grow in Him as reflections of His holiness to the people we serve.

We are servants - of the Most High God and of those He has placed in authority over us. Our job is to listen and obey, serving out of a heart of love for God and for His people.

“Shout with joy to God, all the earth!  Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!”

Ps. 66:1

“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.”

Ps. 92:1-3

Worship is an integral part of The Lighthouse Church, as you will see if you attend any of our services.  In the Scriptures we see many admonitions to worship God.  Some of them refer to singing, some refer to using musical instruments, some refer to shouting and making a joyful noise.  We here at TLC believe that, along with our minds and spirits, our physical bodies were created for worship, so we give people the freedom to raise their hands, clap and even dance unto the Lord.  There is also a place for quietness before God as we reflect on His mercies.  We seek to build up each member of the congregation in his/her understanding of worship.  God seeks those  who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4).  Worship is truly a lifestyle, not just something we do on a Friday or Sunday in church.

Worship teams play and sing in each service, utilizing the skills and servant hearts of our  many volunteers.  The majority of these volunteers are between 13 and 30 years of age.  Our previous worship director, Alex Abcede, had a vision to train up young people as musicians and singers.  This vision directs us now as we continually see young people added into our teams.  They both bless and challenge us.  Many of our team members come to us in family groups as well—father and children or mother and children.  We give God thanks for all of them.

You could be one of our volunteers!  We continually seek those whom the Lord has called to be a part of our teams.  If you are faithfully attending one of the services and would like to be on the worship team of that service, please contact the worship leader or one of us in the Worship Department.  We will meet with you to determine how you can best fit into the team.  May God bless you.  We look forward to serving with you in the future
