Salvation

SalvationWe have Missed the Mark ...

A soldier would not dare to disobey the instructions of his commander-in-chief. The commander on the other hand, cannot afford to lose the battle and he needs loyal and dedicated soldiers. God who created all things beautiful in this world wants his people to live by His standards. God is holy and righteous and He wants his people to live just as He is. But how many of us have lived up to His expectation?

Our Attempt to Reach the Mark ...

In one way or the other, every person in this universe is trying to please God by keeping some laws. For some, it is to take a walk to the mountains and to some, to beat themselves up as a means of penance. Some believe to do good to others the best they can. But the God who said, "Do not commit adultery" also said "Do not kill". Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So you see, God expects us to keep all the laws and not just some of them. But is it possible to keep all the laws?

We Failed to Keep the Laws ...

The Bible says that we all have come short of the glory (standards) of God (Romans 3:23). There is no one who is righteous, no not one. (Psalms 53:2,3). Whosoever keeps the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all (James 2:10). By not keeping the laws we sin, and sin produces death (Romans 6:23)

God's Remedy for our Helplessness ...

God's love did not allow Him to punish mankind forever. He looked out for somebody who would come to His aid to work for Him on this earth. He found none and He chose His own arm (Himself) to redeem mankind from their sin. (Isaiah 63:5)

The Word of God, who was with God from the beginning and who is God Himself (John 1:1) became flesh just like you and me by the power of the Spirit of God and was born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago and He was called Jesus.

Jesus came to destroy the root cause of our sins and lawlessness i.e., satan (1 John 3:8). Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Mathew 1:21). Jesus who knew no sin, took our sins upon himself that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses (Mathew 8:17). He hung on a tree whereby He exchanged our curse unto himself (Galatians 3:13)

He was fully human and was tempted in all points just as we are (Hebrews 4:15) that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people (Hebrews 2:17). He suffered and tasted death for every person (Hebrews 2:9) that He might deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (Hebrews 2:14,15). By His shed blood, He reconciled us unto Himself (Colossians 1:20) by cleansing us from all of our sins (1 John 1:7).

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life (John 3:16)

He rose triumphantly on the third day having destroyed the principalities and the powers (evil spirits of the heavenly realm) (Colossians 2:15) and is seated at the right hand of the Father until He puts all His enemies under His feet (Mathew 22:44).

Would YOU Respond to God's Call?

If you have realized that, You have missed the mark, You in your own ways tried to attain that mark (goal), You know that unless you keep all the laws of God, you would still be guilty of all and it is just not possible for you to keep all the laws of God by your own strength and Jesus died for your sins and by believing in Him you can be saved of God's wrath against you then, pray this prayer out loud from the bottom of your heart, repenting of your sins and asking Jesus to be the Lord and Saviour of your life.

Pray the following:

I realize I am a sinner. I know I need the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe He died and rose again for me. I sincerely receive Him by faith as my Lord and Savior. I take the gift of God which is eternal life in Jesus Christ the Lord. When I have opportunity, I will with God's help confess Him before others.
